"My name is Supaluk Kunala, born August 22, 1962, the fifth of eight siblings. I am unmarried yet, and live with my lovely parents. Everyday we work together with happiness.

"When I left school, I started working as a construction laborer, but I didn't like it. My parents are carvers specializing in mango wood, and I've always admired their work. To me, the art of carving goes beyond the finished product. It is part of my village's way of life, and I love traditions. My parents taught me, and after a while I decided to set up my own workshop and work on my own designs, which have been well accepted. I would love to see my venture flourish and become something my children can inherit.

"Part of the challenge of being a carver is also creating new designs that will please customers. I am constantly designing, inspired mainly by all that surrounds me, such as the environment. I usually start painting something simple on the vase, and work from it until it becomes a beautiful design. I don't want to sound like a highbrow, but I do feel proud of my designs.

"My dreams for the future include being able to promote my work more actively, as well as continue carving. However, I cannot do both at the same time, either I design and carve, or sell. That is why Novica is a viable option for me. Novica has the experience in promoting work such as mine, and I have the experience to carve articles that will draw people's interest."
